Satisfactory · September 15 trial · Posted September 19, 2026

First, a floor.
Then, a factory?

Can an AI help build a factory in Satisfactory? We’re finding out one small step at a time, with me supervising.

24 seconds from the September 15 session, at original speed. A foundation preview and a look across the floor in progress. Silent excerpt with added captions; this is supervised AI control, not an autonomous factory run.

The plan: start small.

A screw production line on concrete foundations, with room for conveyors and more machines later. Before any of that, we needed somewhere to put it.

Eight slabs. One snag.

The September 15 session reached eight confirmed foundation slabs. The layout still needed checking; this was the start of a floor, not a finished factory.

Then the tool used to check the game screen stopped responding. We paused the build rather than keep sending controls without seeing the result. No screw machines, conveyor bus, or power connections were completed in this part of the trial.

What “AI controls” means here

Rowan, the AI assistant, uses screenshots and short keyboard and mouse actions to work in the game. I supervise the trial. This is an early experiment with computer controls, not a claim that an AI can run a factory reliably on its own.

Satisfactory is an existing game. We’re testing AI-assisted play inside it; we didn’t build the game.
